Saturday February 16th,2008 Gamemaster Workshop
Charts & Dice Do Not a GM Make!
The Days of Knights is offering an interactive workshop for those
interested in becoming a role-playing gamesmaster or who may already
be running games and are simply seeking some tips and tricks of the
trade to take their game to the next level.
When? Saturday February 16th 11:00am – 5:00pm (with a break for lunch)
Where? DOKs Game Club annex
The workshop will begin with a seminar w/Q&A on identifying what a
GM is, what his/her role is, what part the players play in a well-run
game, etc. We will identify many of the problems that plague new or
inexperienced GMs (and even some of those old fellows who’ve been
running for years). The second part will be a hands-on workshop demonstrating
techniques for creating atmosphere, encouraging in-character play,
crowd control and motivation, etc. Included will be some unique tricks
developed in the Delaware RPG environment including the use of flashbacks,
quick-action-starts, asides, town-crier news releases, and more that
you can incorporate in your campaign.
